The KTBS 3 Freedom Fest 2026 was a spectacular celebration of America's independence, bringing communities together across the ArkLaTex region. This annual event, now in its 18th year, showcased the power of fireworks, live music, and community spirit, all while honoring the men and women who serve our country. The festival's presenting sponsors, including the City of Shreveport, Shreveport Downtown Development, the Bossier Parish Police Jury, and the Caddo Parish Commission, played a crucial role in making the event a success. Special thanks go to Herbert's Town & County, the Simple Church, Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath, and SWEPCO for their contributions to the fireworks displays. The KTBS MEGA 3 Storm Team forecasted hot temperatures, but the festivities continued, with some rain delays and cancellations. Despite the weather, the celebrations went on, and the fireworks were a sight to behold, visible for miles in Shreveport, South Bossier, Blanchard, Lake Claiborne, Cypress Lake, Jefferson, and Longview. Downtown Shreveport buzzed with live music, and the Riverview Theater provided a safe haven for partiers as threatening clouds rolled in. The Victory Belles, a vocal trio performing 1940s music, entertained the crowd inside Riverview Hall, while Carla Heard, the winner of the Caddo's Rising Star talent competition, wowed the audience with her performance. South Bossier Park was another popular spot, with thousands enjoying food trucks, live music, and the expanded family area provided by Open Road Fellowship Church. The Town of Blanchard and Northwood Hills Golf Club hosted a community celebration for the 250th anniversary of the Fourth of July, featuring live music and family activities. Lake Claiborne hosted a fireworks display from the dam, while Cypress Lake in Benton offered a family-friendly environment with no alcohol allowed. Jefferson, Texas, celebrated with the 33rd Annual Jefferson Salutes America Festival, featuring a wreath laying, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and a patriotic concert by the Shreveport Metropolitan Concert Band. The Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview hosted a Fireworks and Freedom Celebration, which was unfortunately canceled due to weather. Despite the challenges, the Freedom Fest 2026 was a testament to the resilience and spirit of the American people, and it will be remembered as a memorable celebration of God and Country.
